Alchemy of the Self

and transformation that is honest and informed by each person I connect to is of the utmost priority to me.

I am an intuitive guide and messenger, but beyond that, I am a mirror.

I encourage others to explore the physical and energetic deaths in their own lives by illuminating my personal journey through loss, grief & welcoming the knowledge and transformation that follows.

I am a 1st generation mixed Indigenous Mexican-American and the proud daughter of an immigrant. I am blessed to do this work alongside my ancestors and all those who have experienced trauma and abuse at the hands of colonization on both an individual and global scale.

My first experience as a “death doula” was in 2015 when I was present to walk my mother home after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer, however, Death has been an ever present character in my life since I was a child growing up in Mexico with my abuela, Doña Fernanda.

I love to write & talk about how death touches every part of life, and believe that Death is more than just a word, but rather an event, a character in our lives that highlights what truly matters & holds meaning. Death also has this way, in ways both seen & unseen, to propel us forward.

I also hold a unique & keen eye on how insidious unspoken loss can be because, like many out there, I have been carrying grief since birth...some of which belongs to my ancestors. Because of this, I can't help but notice how it lives, where it lives, and why it often stays unnoticed or discarded. You may understand this on a deeper level as well, and even find it living in your relations (this includes the relationship you have to the Self) and family dynamics.

My calling, in large part, has to do with helping others illuminate both death & grief in their own lives in order to self-explore both often. To revel in it just as much as we turn away from it. To have a relationship with it beyond that thing we don't talk about until it's staring us right in the face.

The exploration of our mortality & deep diving with grief is something that can be done for the rest of our lives…if we’re willing. Willing to forgo false comfort for an expansive life, authentic relationships that ebb & flow, and empowered vulnerability in love.

Let's explore how to better cultivate a relationship with death in all its forms in order to live an empowering life. Let's fully & authentically embody our grief during life's many little deaths in order to show up vulnerably for others as well.

Allow yourself to morph, to grow, to listen to what is being asked of you. Let change in. Let truth in.

May this container hold acceptance, curiosity, and peace for all who dare enter. And may we all continue to encourage others to explore the less rosy sides of life in order to witness ourselves & others in the totality of human existence.

Con todo mi amor,

Adriana Michelle
